Anticipated Sequel 'Ready or Not 2: Here I Come' Release Date Accelerated

Instructions

The highly anticipated sequel to Searchlight's horror-comedy film 'Ready or Not' is arriving sooner than expected. Originally scheduled for release on March 27, the film, titled 'Ready or Not 2: Here I Come,' will now debut on March 20. This adjustment brings the continuation of Grace MacCaullay's harrowing journey to audiences a full week earlier, promising more thrills and dark humor.

The upcoming movie features the return of Samara Weaving in her pivotal role as Grace MacCaullay. She is joined by an expanded cast that includes Kathryn Newton, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng, Nadeem Umar-Khitab, David Cronenberg, and Elijah Wood. This ensemble cast is set to bring new dynamics and challenges to Grace's already perilous situation.

The narrative picks up immediately after the events of the first film, where Grace narrowly escaped a deadly game initiated by her wealthy in-laws. The official synopsis reveals that Grace quickly discovers her survival was merely an entry into the 'next level' of this nightmarish contest. Her estranged sister, Faith, played by Kathryn Newton, now accompanies her, adding a new layer to the unfolding drama. Together, they must navigate a world where four rival families are vying for a position of ultimate power, and Grace's survival is intrinsically linked to claiming the 'High Seat of the Council' that governs this sinister global order. The stakes are higher than ever as Grace battles not only for her life but also for the future control of this clandestine world.

Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the directors behind the original success, are once again at the helm for 'Ready or Not 2: Here I Come.' The screenplay was crafted by Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy. Serving as producers for this eagerly awaited sequel are Tripp Vinson, James Vanderbilt, William Sherak, and Bradley J. Fischer. The first 'Ready or Not' film, which also starred Adam Brody, Andie MacDowell, and Henry Czerny, was produced on a modest budget of $6 million and went on to gross $28 million domestically, making it Searchlight's most successful release of 2019. The accelerated release date for the sequel suggests strong confidence in its potential to captivate audiences once more.
