Since its inception in 2011, BrLab has expanded its influence, evolving from a localized workshop into a vital force in the Ibero-American film landscape. Rafael Sampaio, BrLab's founder and director, highlighted the festival's resilience and commitment to supporting creative projects amidst regional challenges. Despite facing institutional funding challenges, including a lack of support from Brazil's national film agency, Ancine, the festival continues to thrive through strategic partnerships and a strong community of professionals dedicated to advancing Latin American cinema.
