Instructions

RAI Cinema International Distribution has successfully initiated significant international sales for Paolo Genovese's newest cinematic endeavor, "The Sound of Something New," during the ongoing Cannes Film Market. This film, a collaborative effort between Lotus Production, a subsidiary of Leone Film Group, and RAI Cinema, is presently in its post-production phase. Key distribution agreements have been secured with Spain (Karma Films), Poland (Aurora Film), Hungary (Vertigo Media), Greece and Cyprus (Dream Team Film), and various Balkan territories including Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia (Kino Mediteran).

Following Genovese's previous acclaimed work, "Madly" from 2025, "The Sound of Something New" delves into the intricate lives of six distinct individuals whose paths converge within the bustling backdrop of Milan. The narrative explores their shared human quest for a profound "perfect noise" – an inner signal or calling that guides them away from emotional apathy and towards meaningful existence. Their interactions are shaped by a series of encounters, ranging from moments of vulnerability and subtle acts of compassion to deeply held aspirations.

A pivotal moment occurs when Viola and Andrea's unexpected meeting ignites the possibility of a fresh start, triggering a cascade of events that ultimately impacts the lives of all characters involved. Genovese's earlier film, "Perfect Strangers," released in 2016 and distributed globally by Medusa, holds a remarkable Guinness World Record for being the most remade film in cinematic history. With remakes produced in 24 countries, including France, Germany, Spain, Greece, and South Korea, these adaptations have collectively generated an impressive gross of approximately $400 million, underscoring Genovese's significant influence and storytelling prowess in the international film landscape.

The continued success of Paolo Genovese's work reflects the universal appeal of his storytelling and the profound impact of his narratives on diverse audiences. His ability to craft relatable human experiences within compelling cinematic frameworks not only secures international distribution but also fosters cross-cultural dialogue through the power of film. This demonstrates that compelling narratives, when thoughtfully executed, can transcend geographical boundaries and resonate deeply with viewers worldwide, encouraging introspection and a deeper understanding of the human condition.
